I’m trying to get better about organizing my social media. I post whatever comes to mind on Twitter and Facebook, but those are kind of transient and it’s easy to miss stuff. And I put a lot in my newsletter but that only comes out once every couple of months. I haven’t even started to figure out Goodreads…
Anyway, THIS news space should really be a place that’s always up to date with my latest writer news, and I haven’t been using it that way. For example, I really should have posted about my story “Time Travel Is Only for the Poor” getting chosen for Rich Horton’s Year’s Best SF&F anthology and as an AnLab Finalist in Analog’s readers’ choice awards, or about “The Little Homo Sapiens Scientist” getting longlisted for the Tiptree. Why do I not post these things?! (Answer: I’m really bad at talking about myself. Er.)
Time to start! From here on I’m going to try to use this space as the up-to-date repository for my writer news. Twitter/Facebook will have news mixed in with other commentary and life stuff, and my newsletter will highlight only the most important information, as well as being more in-depth (plus sometimes special offers for subscribers).
So here’s the current news:
- New story! My novelette “The Woman Who Destroyed Us” is now available in the Twelve Tomorrows anthology from MIT Press. Other authors in the anthology include Elizabeth Bear, Clifford V. Johnson, J. M. Ledgard, Liu Cixin, Ken Liu, Paul McAuley, Nnedi Okorafor, Malka Older, Sarah Pinsker, and Alastair Reynolds.
- See me ON VIDEO! Want to see me in person but haven’t been able to? Check out this video of a promotional event I did with Elizabeth Bear and Ken Liu for Twelve Tomorrows. We’re joined by our editor, Wade Roush!
- Giveaway Giveaway Giveaway! Tor is currently doing a #FearlessWomen giveaway, in which you can win EIGHT BOOKS from the #FearlessWomen authors, including Zero Sum Game. Two more days to enter!
From here on, I’m going to try to start being better about posting every time something happens, so this news feed can be a reference for anyone who’s trying to follow just the writing news. Still figuring all this out — bear with me! 🙂
